Jewelry, like everything else, is exposed to dirt and bacteria during the day. That is why we have put together a number of good tips on how you can extend the life of your jewelry, so that you can enjoy them for many years to come. Regardless of the material your jewelry is made of, there is a wealth of household advice for cleaning it. Here, however, it is important that you are aware of what your jewelry is made of, since each material requires different approaches to cleaning and care. As we at Grundled sell gold-plated and silver-plated jewelry, we will first focus on how you care for and clean these.

With gold-plated and silver-plated jewelry, we do not recommend that you use polishing cream for cleaning, as the surface can easily be worn if there are abrasives in the polishing cream. On the other hand, the very best method is the following:
- Let the jewelry soak in lukewarm soapy water for approx. 10 min.
- Remove all soap residue by rinsing thoroughly afterwards under the hot tap.
- Finish the cleaning by wiping with a dry, clean and soft cloth.
With jewelry you use daily, we recommend that you repeat this 1 - 2 times a month.

For cleaning gold and silver jewelry, you can use a polishing cloth without damaging the jewelry. For general cleaning, you can use the same procedure as above, but if it is only a matter of individual stains, a cleaning cloth can be advantageously used.

In addition to cleaning your jewelry, you can take various measures to keep them looking better for longer. You should, for example, avoid wearing jewelry when you sleep, take a shower, play sports, sunbathe, work in the garden or clean. In addition, it is also a good idea not to expose the jewelry to perfume, hairspray, make-up and creams.
Store your jewelry properly
The best and safest way to store jewelry is to put it in jewelry boxes or in separate cloth bags. The most important thing here is that they neither get scratched, get too much moisture or are exposed to air and sunlight.
